Addison Behavioral Resources – ABR

Director: Laura Addison, Ph.D., BCBA

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)-based assessment and treatment to individuals ages birth to 22 years diagnosed with pervasive developmental disorders (e.g., autism) or other developmental disabilities and their caregivers. Specific techniques included in ABA treatment programs include Discrete Trial Training (DTT), Pivotal Response Training (PRT), and Verbal Behavior. Programs are individualized to address a variety of skill deficits (e.g., self-help, language, academic, etc.) as well as a variety of behavioral excesses (e.g., self-injury, aggression, disruption, self-stimulatory behaviors, etc.). Other services offered include behavioral assessment and treatment of food refusal and food selectivity.  In addition, district-wide, school-wide, or teacher/para educator training, parent and sibling training, and inclusion services.  Services are provided both in the home and in the school.  ABR provides services throughout Ventura County and is a vendor with Tri-Counties Regional Center and is a Non-Public Agency (NPA) with a master contract with the Ventura County SELPA.

Autism Center for Treatment – ACT

Assessment and treatment of children with Autism Spectrum Disorders and other behavioral disorders of childhood using Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Discrete Trial Training (DTT), Pivotal Response Training (PRT), the Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS), sign language, the TEACCH system, self-management and others.  Programs are comprehensive and address communication, social, play motor, cognitive, academic, attention, and adaptive skills.  Specialized programming is used to teach anger/anxiety management, theory of mind, executive functioning, reading, writing, typing, math and other skills.  ACT offers in-home ABA-based treatment programs, diagnostic and treatment assessment, school consulting, school aides, ABA training, social skills groups, parent and sibling education, seminars, and more.  ACT is a Non-Public Agency (NPA) with a Master Contract with the Ventura County SELPA.

We use a scientifically proven method, Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), to teach essential skills and to decrease behavior problems in children with Pervasive Developmental Disorders (i.e., Autism, Asperger's, Cerebral Palsy).
